Fundraiser this Monday night, Labor Day!

The 3rd Annual Labor Day Party, presented by Sassy & Equality Network, benefiting Equality Network, and the Los Angeles Diaper Bank (a program of the Equality Network Foundation), starts at 8pm with $2 drinks until 10pm! $5 suggested donation at the door.

Headlining is JER BER JONES, with BEN PAULEY, BARBIE Q, SAMANTHA STARR and CHRIS SALVATORE. Special guests Mike Manning from ‘The Real World: DC’, and Guy B, will also be joining us.

Kedren Community Center diaper drops!

Picking up diapers at Costco

Today, with money from the Equality Network Foundation (from generous monetary donations and fund-raisers at Here Lounge in West Hollywood), we delivered over 1,500 diapers to the Kedren Community Center in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles! This follows on the tail of a previous donation in June of over 500 diapers, gathered at our various fund-raising events since January.

While dropping off the diapers, we had the chance to tour their new early Head Start Program center, built entirely from renewable materials. We hope to begin supplying them with eco-friendly diapers for this early Head Start Program in the near future, and look forward to fund-raising for that!

Four new community partners sign-on!

Four new community partners have signed-on to help distribute diapers for the Los Angeles Diaper Bank:

Hollywood United Methodist Church
Para Los Ninos
Children’s Bureau of Southern California
Hope Gardens

We expect to begin delivering diapers to our partners in mid-March. In the mean-time, we are building a base of Diaper Drop locations, and gathering endorsements and sponsors to help us raise money and awareness for the Diaper Bank.

LADB launches at “A Wedding for All”

The Los Angeles Diaper Bank was launched yesterday, at “A Wedding for All,” a musical variety show presented by Arts for Equality, held at the Hollywood Lutheran Church to raise money for Equality Network’s efforts in repealing Proposition 8.

Featuring Brooke Wilkes, and performances by Todd Schroeder, Linda Fitak, Jon Nelson, Eduardo Welter, Salina Is Land, Jessica Burks, Jae-Wan, Sarah Bear, Jonalyn Habil, Adam Dusewicz, The Moods, and Nellie Bly, the event took place from 5pm to 8pm.

Those who attended the event and brought a package of diapers for the fledgling Los Angeles Diaper Bank were given free entry. Over a dozen packages of diapers were collected to launch the diaper bank, while $400 was raised for Equality Network.
