The Los Angeles Diaper Bank (LADB) is a charitable organization focused on providing free diapers to low-income families. Utilizing a network of existing service providers, whose trusted relationship with the communities they serve can facilitate getting diapers to those who need them most, the LADB seeks to efficiently aide as many babies as possible in Los Angeles County.
Founded in 2009, LADB follows the example of successful diaper banks in Arizona, Connecticut, and a dozen other states, who have provided over 15 million diapers in the past five years to low-income and poverty-stricken families. The number of babies in need grows every year, and without this vital service, local providers of charity (like food pantries or shelters) are unable to keep up with the demand for diapers. So few people know of this growing epidemic of children in soiled diapers, while charities are unable to spend more money to raise awareness about the problem.
